Amidst all of this, there are still great things happening here through Doulos and Young Life. Here is a little update on the last month and what's to come...
Doulos Third grade is learning about insects and totally pumped when they see one in the "wild" (which happens a lot here). Fourth grade is in the midst of a Poetry Unit. Both classes continue to joyfully surprise me with their excitement for learning. We are finishing up the last few weeks of regular classes and will have Math Madness for our final week of school. Graduation is June 14! Many our seniors are attending university in the Fall, either in country or in the U.S.
Young Life
We had our last Campaigners bible study on Tuesday and our last Club
will be this coming Tuesday. At the beginning of May we held our
International 5K Run for Fun for the purpose of raising funds for summer
camp. We had a great turnout in Jarabacoa as well as other cities
around the world. Check out the pictures below. We will be taking a
group of girls to Lake Champion this summer in June! If you would like

Personally, I am doing well. My biggest accomplishment was running a Half Marathon with good friend, Danae this month! We ran on Mother's Day in honor of our moms in the Hot Mama Half. It was a make-your-own race, but we had great friends supporting us the whole way. Some ran with us, a few gave us water, others provided music while riding a moto next to us, and a crowd of good friends cheered us in to the finish. It was great.
